About Gaspeite: Gaspeite is an extremely rare mineral, found only in a few localities, mainly from a small vein mined from Widgiemooltha, in Western Australia. Gaspeite may not always be available and is increasing in price. It's light green, almost green apple color is quite unique and some varieties are almost a natural, phosphorous neon green. It contains brownish patches which may give it a distinctive character and interest. It looks similar to green Chrysoprase, also from Western Australia, and is sometimes mistaken for green turquoise, but far more rare and valuable. Gaspeite forms where there are nickel(sulfide) deposits. The name Gaspeite originates from the Canadian Gaspe Peninsula in Quebec, where it was first discovered.
