What is Meditation?
Meditation is a natural state of the human mind—at rest, open, alert. The basic meditation technique predates all religious traditions, though it is used in one way or another by each of them. Undertaken as a steady practice, meditation allows the mind to relax and settle. It encourages our inherent qualities of stability, clarity and mental strength to emerge. We still prefer to make malas with tassels, so that we can use the durable, state of the art cable- soft flex-

What experiences with malas breaking or lasting the longest have people had?

I just opened my mala beads and I am in love! I hadn’t quite known what to expect but I almost cried when I touched them-I’ve wanted a strand for years and never really felt it was time to invest in them. I have found that I am ready to devote my energy and intentions to this sacred mind set and I am delighted to have found Sakura Designs to create my ideal mala beads, just the way I wanted them, individual and very special. Thank You!

I just received my mala and it is beautiful; so is the silk bag I ordered. Thank you so much!

We just updated our site, and have brought in many new items..again! We have such a passion for these materials, it never seems to stop- We can offer such low prices why? …because we import the raw beads directly from the manufacturers in huge volume, and then make your mala to order, right here in Boulder.
We make malas, usually while listening to Dharma talks, after lighting candles and incense on the shrine. I think that we may very well be the last American Cottage industry! Thanks for finding us, and warmth and blessings to all~
