The Scorpio Inspired Mala is an 8mm genuine hardwood, black onyx and golden Tiger’s eye beads, with golden markers and a guru bead, strung on nylon cord and finished with a natural cotton tassel.
November birthstone mala, we craft these mala bead necklaces with semiprecious healing birthstone and colors, and moreso, try to capture the energy of that sign. Our wooden astrological inspired beads are fair trade imported from sustainable resources and then well crafted here in Boulder, gender neutral.
ABOUT BLACK ONYX:
Gemologically, natural Onyx is similar to other cryptocrystalline quartz and is much harder than some varieties sold as Onyx, which are much softer and are made of calcite. Onyx may be a multilayered black and white stone, usually with a black base and a white upper layer. Onyx is mined in the US, Italy and Mexico.
Healing Properties:
Black Onyx: Helps one to change bad habits and is a powerful healing and grounding stone. Black stone in the Feng Shui tradition is considered “Yin” and is folklore says it helps with emotional protection and increased power. It is associated with the root “chakra.”
Tiger’s Eye: The chosen material for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s own mala. It is folklored as a power stone. Tiger’s Eye has a wonderful reputation for attracting wealth, money, and luck. However, it has powerful spiritual uses as well. The liquid movement of light across the stone makes it an excellent tool for vision or divination work.
