How long does it take for me to receive my order?
Fast, Mindful Shipping from Our Boulder Studio
We honor your practice by shipping quickly and with care. In-stock pieces ship the next business day, while made-to-order malas are handcrafted and shipped within 2–3 business days. All orders are sent via USPS Ground Advantage or Priority Mail on weekdays (holidays excluded).
U.S. Delivery: Please allow 3–6 business days.
International Delivery: Please allow 1–4 weeks.
Every order includes a complimentary pouch to protect your beads when not in use, so your mala remains a trusted companion on your journey.

Your satisfaction matters deeply to us. If a piece doesn’t feel quite right, please contact us within 10 days of receiving your order for a no-hassle return authorization. We’re happy to guide you through the process.

To qualify for a return, your item must be unused and in resellable condition, and returned within 30 days of your original purchase date. We will refund the full product purchase price, less outgoing and return shipping costs.
Please note: Custom-designed malas and items marked as closeout are final sale and non-returnable.

Orders and Shipping
Shipping Your Mala with Care
We’re excited to get your piece into your hands! Here’s what to expect:
For U.S. Orders:
Most in-stock items ship the next business day, and made-to-order malas are handcrafted and shipped within 1–3 business days. Once your mala leaves our Boulder studio, please allow 3–6 business days for delivery via USPS Ground Advantage or Priority Mail.
Custom Designs:
Because each custom mala is created just for you, please allow one additional week for us to bring your vision to life.
Need it faster?
We’re happy to offer express shipping! Just know we’ll still need 2–3 business days to carefully craft and prepare your order. Express parcels may require a signature at pickup.
For Our International Friends:
Your mala will travel to you via USPS Priority Airmail. Delivery typically takes 1–4 weeks, though some countries may take a bit longer depending on customs processing. Please include your local phone number at checkout~ it helps ensure smooth delivery. You may need to clear your package through customs personally and cover any applicable duties or fees.
A little patience goes a long way:
If your U.S. order hasn’t arrived after 10 business days, reach out and we’ll help track it down. For international orders, feel free to check with your local post for estimated delivery times and customs requirements.
We ship on weekdays (holidays excluded) and include a complimentary pouch with every order to keep your beads safe and protected.

During checkout we can ship to your billing address or ship to an alternate address. We ship to many countries, worldwide!
Our system encrypts credit card information, so we have no access to your card info, once an order is placed.
We charge tax if your order is placed in the state of Colorado, or in other states is applicable.
We ship to over 50 major counties worldwide, a list of available countries are shown on the checkout page.
Safe Shipping and Insurance
First Class Airmail is uninsured however, all USPS Priority Mail parcels are insured for your peace of mind. You’ll receive a tracking number and proof of delivery so you can follow your order every step of the way.
You’ll also receive an automatic notification from the United States Postal Service on the day your order is processed.
For Our International Customers
International orders are shipped via US Airmail. While your package isn’t traceable in real time through the USPS database, we provide a customs number that confirms proof of shipping online.
Please note that international shipping involves customs processing and local postal handling, which are beyond our control. Some countries require formal entry, and you may need to pay brokerage fees or duties/ tariffs. If your package requires customs clearance, your local post will notify you.
In the event of loss, delay, or confiscation, please contact your local post and file a loss report using the customs number we provide. We’re happy to assist with any documentation you need from our end.
A Note on International Addresses
The postal database may standardize your address format, placing the postal code after the county. This will appear correctly on your receipts.

Returns Exchange+Info
Returns Made Simple
We want you to love your mala. If something doesn’t feel quite right, we’re here to help.
Here’s how it works:
Contact us within 10 days of receiving your order by calling 1-720-350-6905 or emailing info@buddhistmala.com. We’ll walk you through the return process and provide simple instructions.
Your item must be unused and in resellable condition, with the original packaging and complimentary mala pouch intact. Please return it within 30 days of your purchase date.
Refunds:
Once we receive your return, we’ll refund the full product price, minus the original shipping and handling costs and a 4.99% non-refundable card processing fee. If your order qualified for free shipping, we’ll deduct our actual outgoing shipping costs along with the 4.99% processing fee.
Refunds are processed within one billing cycle (up to 30 days) after we receive your item.
Please note:
Custom-designed pieces and items marked as “Closeout” are final sale. We’re unable to accept returns on damaged items caused by wear or misuse, even within the 30-day window.

If you receive a damaged/defective product, please retain all packaging and notify us immediately for claim instructions or a Return Authorization. 1-720-350-6905 Please send it back to us. If it is determined that product was damaged by shipper, a refund or replacement product will be sent if available as soon as we receive the damaged item back. The same policy applies if you have received an incorrect item.
Please note that we often use natural hand-cut materials for our malas, the stone quality varies from AA- B grade. There are inherent slight inclusions/ imperfections with natural stone beads and should not be considered a defect. Coral is particularly porous and these “nuisances” add to the handcrafted beauty of working with natural materials.

Our “Be Always Kind” Policy
We believe in treating everyone with respect and kindness. Harassment of any kind, whether on our site, via email, or through any form of communication, is not acceptable. This includes obscene, insulting, defamatory, threatening, or abusive language toward anyone at Sakura Designs.
We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service at any time if this policy is not honored. We’re committed to maintaining a respectful, peaceful space for everyone in our community.
Our Craftsmanship Warranty
We stand behind every mala we create. All pieces handcrafted in our Boulder studio are guaranteed free of manufacturing defects for 30 days from your purchase date. While no mala will last forever, if your prayer beads break within 30 days, we’ll restring them once at no charge using the original design.
Imported Malas
Imported pieces, such as power beads or juzu, are not covered under our warranty. Elastic stretch malas can break with regular use, so we recommend keeping a small spool of “Stretch Magic” cord from your local craft store on hand for easy repairs. If an adjustable slipknot bracelet begins to unravel, you can carefully melt the frayed end with a lighter to prevent further damage.
Caring for Your Natural Gemstones
We use natural, cut gemstone beads. Some stones may be color enhanced, irradiated, dyed, or waxed depending on the supplier and batch. With proper care, the colors will hold beautifully over time.
To protect your mala:
- Avoid wearing it for extended periods in direct sunlight or excessive sweat
- Remove before showering, swimming, or using acetone or harsh chemicals
- Store it in the complimentary pouch we provide when not in use
We’re unable to accept returns based on gemstone color fading, but with mindful care, your mala will remain vibrant and beautiful.
If Your Mala Breaks Within 30 Days
Please email us first at info@buddhistmala.com. We’ll provide a return address, and you can send your beads back to us. Our warranty covers all labor and materials, though return shipping is not included. Please note that the warranty does not cover damage from wear, misuse, or shipping.
Restringing After 30 Days
Redesigns are not covered under warranty. If you’d like to have your mala restrung after the 30-day period, you can order that service online using this form.

Registration, Retention and Deletion of Information
We do not download nor have access to your stored credit card information, this private information is stored, encrypted and on Paypal Express Checkout’s server, encrypted. Here is their Privacy Policy. Visitors to our site, can register and sign in, we can remember your order information and data and you are free to delete this information, in it’s entirety, at any time. Just send us an email to request download or deletion to info@buddhistmala.com.
Encryption Certificate
Our 27/7 Secure, 128Bit encrypted entire page website, uses the standard WordPress platform with a powerful security shield, with constant security monitoring. The engineers of our template are working to ensure their GDPR compliance. Sakura Designs, LLC is not based in the EU, nor do we have a distribution location there. However, we do ship internationally, and we respect requested privacy and security changes to protect our customers. Opt In/Out Mailing List
We do encourage you to sign up for our newsletter and be entitled to web coupons, sales and notices, and your email address is again, 100% privacy protected. You can opt-in to our mailing list. Customers who place orders are automatically subscribed to our internal mailing list, to be notified of updates, sales and security notices, with the option to opt-out at anytime.
