This “Green Tara Mala” is intentionally crafted for Green Tara meditation practices, honoring the female Bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism who appears as a female Buddha in Vajrayana Buddhism. In Japan, where she is known as Tarani Bosatsu, her blessing is traditionally celebrated for its swift responsiveness, making the rich green shades of this stone a perfect visual anchor for her visualization and mantra.Geologically, Jade exists in two distinct mineral forms: Jadeite (a sodium aluminum silicate) and Nephrite (a calcium magnesium iron silicate). The mala is just beautiful and so is the pretty bag it came with. It arrived in Illinois really quickly, and customer support helped me figure out how to adjust how tight the beads are strung. I will say that it has 111 beads, not 108. I was confused for a while and thougjt I was counting wrong somehow at first. I’m not sure why – if the turquoise beads don’t count somehow? Anyway, I just started skipping them when I felt the spacers when chanting mantras. To me, it’s about going with the flow, so I decided there’s a lesson in adjusting my practice to the new mala. :)
