About this Mala:

This mala features 8mm cool and clear faceted genuine Swarovski® Crystal beads. AB refers to Aurora Borealis, a finish that reflects a rainbow-like shimmer across the surface of each bead. We offer some color choices with or without the AB. The mala is accented with citrine-colored markers and completed with a Quartz Crystal guru bead and adjustable macrame knot.

About Genuine Swarovski

Crafted using authentic Swarovski® Crystals, produced by the Austrian Swarovski® company. Each bead is precision cut, well calibrated, and polished for exceptional brilliance. An 8mm Swarovski #5000 faceted round crystal bead has multiple facets, having 32 facets for increased light reflectivity. For example, the #5000 series beads are described as having “multiple facets” and are precisely machine-cut to achieve this sparkle.

What is AB? 

The “AB” (Aurora Borealis) coating itself is not a metal but a thin, iridescent vapor-deposited layer, typically gold, aluminum or titanium, applied over the crystal bead partially to create a shimmering, rainbow-like effect.

Our mala necklaces are handcrafted in Boulder, Colorado by Sakura Designs, LLC using authentic, certified Austrian crystals produced by the Swarovski company. Their precision cutting, sharp facets, and unique light refraction cannot be duplicated, making them unmistakable in quality. As lower grade crystal imitations have flooded the market, Swarovski now sells only to approved, licensed vendors who may no longer use the Swarovski trade name in marketing. We have worked with genuine Swarovski components for more than twenty years, maintain a supply of pre-purchased beads, and continue sourcing from reputable vintage stock suppliers.
