Mala Repair and Mala Restringing Service

Our professional mala repair service helps restore your mala necklace or bracelet so you can continue using it for meditation and daily practice. We offer high quality mala restringing with durable cord, optional knots, and fresh finishing details.
  • We offer simple mala restringing for malas made by us or for similar designs for $45. This includes materials such as a new cotton tassel, a new macrame knot, and a new bag.
  • If your mala is fully knotted like the example image, please select the knotted option since it requires double the time. We will match the cord color to your mala.
  • Ship your mala in secure packaging using US Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. Insurance or signature confirmation can slow delivery, so standard Priority Mail works best.
  • Please select US Priority Mail as the outbound return shipping method at checkout. Do not choose the free shipping option for mala repair orders. Also, place an order before mailing any malas to us.
  • If your Sakura Designs mala (handmade in the US) breaks within the 30 day warranty and was not worn daily or mishandled, we offer free restringing. Shipping costs still apply. Include your Invoice Number when sending a warranty repair.

How to Order Mala Repair

  • Step 1. Place your mala repair order for a standard 108 bead mala. For a fully knotted mala, select knotted mala. We also repair bracelets and fine necklaces.
  • Step 2. Add any special design or stringing notes on the checkout page.
  • Step 3. Pack your malas carefully and ship through a traceable service such as US Priority Mail. They provide padded flat rate mailers and insurance is included.
  • Step 4. Send your malas to:

You will receive your tracking number when your order is processed. We take great care in handling each mala and will do our best to restore its beauty and strength.
 About Knotted Malas– If you have a “knotted japa mala” (knots after each bead) that you’d like restrung, we can reknot or remove each knotted bead and “upgrading” to our break resistant “Soft Flex” bead cord. We do have to use a tassel with “Soft Flex”, to properly fasten the finishing knot for extended use. There will no longer be knots after each bead so you can better use it for counting. agate-knotted-mala 
We can re-knot your Japa Mala with strong knotting cord or seed beads knots after each bead.  If you send us a knotted mala to restring, please choose the knotted  for your repair, and seed beads “knotting” takes 2x the time!
