Despite its name, African Turquoise is not true turquoise but a beautiful variety of jasper mined primarily in Africa, long prized across cultures as an ornamental stone. It is an opaque form of quartz matrix jasper characterized by a distinctive blend of teal, green, brown, and black web-like inclusions caused by copper and iron deposits.
