About Aventurine

Aventurine is a type of Quartz widely used for carvings and cabochons. The stone is primarily dark green but can also exhibit a glittery metallic appearance due to green mica inclusions. Hematite inclusions can add a reddish or grayish sparkle. Aventurine was first discovered by Venetian glass-workers in the 18th century, and its name comes from the Italian phrase “a ventura,” meaning “by chance.” It is found in deposits across Brazil, India, Austria, Russia, and Tanzania.
