About Black Onyx
Gemologically, natural onyx is a variety of cryptocrystalline quartz, making it significantly harder than lower-grade “onyx” varieties made of calcite. True onyx often appears as a multilayered black and white stone, typically with a deep black base and lighter upper layer. It is commonly mined in the United States, Italy, and Mexico.
Healing Properties
Black Onyx is traditionally believed to support the release of bad habits and provide emotional protection. As a grounding stone, it is considered “Yin” in Feng Shui and associated with the root chakra, offering strength and stability.
Carnelian is said to enhance creativity, mental clarity, passion, and compassion. Known as a “Yang” stone in Feng Shui, it resonates with the second chakra and is thought to inspire fertility and motivation.
