WHY BLACK OBSIDIAN?

Obsidian is natural volcanic glass formed when lava cools rapidly without forming crystals. It has been used for thousands of years for tools, ornaments, mirrors and ceremonial objects. In contemporary spiritual traditions, black obsidian is traditionally associated with grounding and protection.

THE PIXIU

The Pixiu is a winged creature from Feng Shui and Chinese mythology, traditionally depicted with an open mouth and associated with gathering and holding wealth. In Feng Shui traditions, black is associated with the water element, while the Pixiu is commonly used as a symbol of prosperity.

THE MANI MANTRA

The Mani mantra, OM MANI PADME HUM, is associated with Avalokiteshvara in Tibetan Buddhism and is widely used in Buddhist meditation and mantra practice. Here, the mantra is laser-inlaid in gold directly onto the beads.

WHICH WRIST?

In some Feng Shui traditions, the bracelet is worn on the left wrist with the Pixiu facing outward. The left side is traditionally regarded as the receiving side. These customs vary, so wear it wherever it is most comfortable for you.

Each bracelet is assembled to order in our Boulder studio using genuine obsidian and durable elastic. Every bead is inspected before assembly. No mass production. No plastic imitation stone.

All sizes are elastic and measurements are approximate. The bracelet slips easily over the hand without a clasp.
