We have been manufacturing mala beads since 2005, and rely on components from many countries to handcraft them here in Boulder, Colorado, USA. With over 500 different ready made, made to order designs, and custom designs, we source beads from: Nepal, India, Bhutan, Alaska, Mexico, Poland, Lithuania, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan to name a few and raw materials for the bead factories is sourced worldwide, like our Afghani Lapis. Our processing prices over the next few weeks and months may increase slightly reflect the new higher tariffs, but currently they have not changed, so if you were wanting to place an order, now is the time! Either way, we always aspire to offer well made items from natural gemstones, seeds and woods at a reasonable price.
As of April 5, 2025, the U.S. government has implemented new import tariffs, including a 10% universal tariff on all imports, and a 145% tariff specifically on goods from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan is in negotiation. While additional country-specific tariffs were initially set to begin on April 9, these have been postponed until mid-July 2025.
These tariff changes may affect the cost of goods imported into the U.S. from several countries, including (but not limited to) China, the European Union, India, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Additionally, tariffs from other countries could impact shipments originating from the U.S., so please check with your country to see if there are any duties applicable.

If you are concerned about the cost of American goods increasing by as much as 2.5x, please contact your US Representative and ask them to remove these punitive and burdensome tariffs.
